Creative Director Nike, Eddie Bauer
Born in 1965 in Mozambique, then a Portuguese colony, I grew up building my own toys, reading, surfing, biking and drawing. A few years after the Independence, my parents sent me to Portugal to avoid the looming Civil War. In Portugal, after graduating from IADE, I worked as a product designer in the glass, furniture and car industries.
I later moved into the advertising business, where I worked at a variety of agencies as an art director and creative director. Under my direction, Y&R and Nova Publicidade were named Advertising Agencies of the Year in Portugal, for 4 consecutive years.
Meanwhile, I co-founded a mountain biking magazine, BIKE, the Art Director's Club of Portugal and was a partner of Sneakers Delight, a chain of 4 sneaker stores in Portugal. I am fully invested in staying connected with pop culture as it relates to photography, fashion, sneaker culture, art, design, typography, film, emerging media, brand communication, music, dj'ing, mountain biking, surfing and car racing. My sketchbooks, which I've kept religiously since I was 10, have been published several times.
In 2001, I co-founded my own agency, Home. The next year, the agency merged with Grey. In 2002, I was invited by the Cannes Festival to be in the film jury, with Dan Wieden as President. It was there that Dan invited me to be the Creative Director for Nike Europe at the Wieden + Kennedy office in Amsterdam, where I spent 3 years before moving to the flagship office in Portland, Oregon. As CD, I oversaw Nike Latin America and Electronic Arts for 3 more years, and worked on a variety of Nike projects for the U.S., China and Global. In 2008, I left Wieden + Kennedy for a unique opportunity to partner with Esther Lee as CCO North America at Euro / NY. Following Esther's unexpected departure, I left soon after.

Creative Lead, Google Russia
I worked for the big networks (Leo Burnett, Lowe, Y&R, McCann) and I was lucky enough to win some cool awards (Cannes, Clio, Epica, Eurobest, NY Festival, LIA).
I started as a copywriter in Milan, where I learned to foster the most pronounced Italian quality: fantasy.
I then moved to Brazil, where I learned synthesis: communicating to a target that ranges from the illiterate to the Nobel prize forces you to find a simple and universal language.
The third stop was California, where all the creative trends that influence and shape the world are originated –from Hollywood to the Silicon Valley.
I’m now in Russia, the land of the best copywriters of all times –from Tolstoy to Cechov, from Goncarov to Dostoyevsky.
After helping Y&R Moscow become the most awarded Russian agency at Cannes for 2 consecutive years, I joined Google as Creative Lead.
